My ishmael post 2

1.In the dictionary the the definition of anthropomorphism is The representation of the Deity, or of a polytheistic deity, under a human form, or with human attributes and affections and the second definition is the ascription of human characteristics to things not human. I think Ishmael is applying that humans often misunderstand animals actions as human attributes.

2.In this chapter Ishmael leads us through the evolution of the Awks on planet Calliope. They start out as Awks and then some evolve into Bawks and then a few evolve into Cawks. These Cawks live in tribes and have a cultural heritage. They practice the strategy of ‘Erratic Retaliation’.

a.Ishmael describes erratic retaliation as get as good as you get but don't be to predictable so in other words if one is not bothering you than don't bother them back however after a period of time so your to predictable make a move and let them know that you are there.
b.It is a peace keeping method because it doesn't involve fighting it's more of who ever wins fairly with out using violence so like playing a game of rock paper scissors or something.
c.Why don’t the Cawks just annihilate each other (instead of just doing the occasional attacks?
The Cawks don't annihilate each other because it would be like breaking or ignoring the rules of a game also because the other tribes would find them to be dangerous and no longer peaceful.

My ishmael

1.What are Ishmael’s two general rules on how to identify people from our culture? Do you agree with Ishmael when he says that people from all over the world are part of the same culture? Why or why not?
They perceive themselves to be members of a race that is fundamentally flawed and inherently doomed to suffering and misery.
& We keep food under lock and key, and we think it is normal.
I don't think that people from all over the world are part of the same culture though because the whole world is full of many people so I don't really think that we all have one same culture.

2.Ishmael disagrees with Mother Culture’s voice that says that humans are inherently
flawed. After reading through page 66 of My Ishmael do agree or disagree with him? Why?
Well I disagree when Ishmael says that we are not flawed because we are all flawed we were born that way and it's what makes us unique and not like robots. So many can argue about this but I really gotta say that we all have flaws and the evidence is all the bad stuff that's happening to the world.

3.Ishmael uses a parable of Tunes and Dancers to explain his idea of Takers and Leavers. Who are these Takers and Leavers and how do they relate to American culture?
I think the Takers is our society so most of us and the leavers are the ones who kind of rebel and just decide to go there own way.

To live sustainably

I think to live sustainably means to live kind of simple and not wasting electricity and conserving energy and using stuff more wisely Also its like living a more natural type of life w/out wasting resources.
As a 14 year old I feel like I have a so-so amount of freedom in society like I'm able to buy items and go to places by myself or friends my age like the bus, concert, and mall however a lot of people who are older feel like teenagers are a bunch of trouble makers and we are not responsible enough but for the most part my freedom is alright.
I think I can live more sustainable by keeping track of what I do and managing and limiting myself from wasting energy and stuff also and to preserve the environment and by working with others so they can do the same.
